Belton House is a magnificent Grade I listed country house in Lincolnshire, completed in 1687. The building is structurally complex with a two-tier timber roof system.

GCA were asked to review the roof structure, ahead of works to comprehensively re-roof. The assessment included consideration of temporary works, with spanning structures being required over a number of features in the ground adjacent to the building.

As well as the main house, GCA have inspected and assessed structures within the grounds including a unique cast-iron structure, and the boundary walls to the St Peter and Paul Church. In all cases, particular attention has been given to the special characteristics of the building and its setting when developing methodologies for repair and conservation.
