The new swimming pool complex at Austey Manor was part of a general refurbishment under the supervision of The Tyler Parkes Partnership for Keily Bros.The purpose was to provide a sport facilities as well as living accommodation. GCA provided the structural design for the swimming pool and the refurbishment of the main property. The swimming pool architectural brief was to provide a low roofed, but high ceiling modern building with no internal columns or beams to minimise heat loss, this resulted in the roof being suspended underneath a series of exposed box portal frames.
